AUTHORIZE
EXECUTION TO FAA GRANT AGREEMENT
NUMBER 36 (ASR 06-001429). Airport
Director requested Airport
Commission concurrence
with the recommended
board action to authorize
execution of the Federal
Aviation Administration
(FAA) Grant agreement Number
36 to fund Capital Improvement
Projects at John Wayne
Airport. Responding to
Commissioner Bristol,
Airport Director Alan
Murphy explained the project
name and monetary value
will be filled into the
Grant Agreement before
execution. Director Murphy
continued to explain
that future grants will
be reduced because JWA
is now charging a Passenger
Facility Charge (PFC).
No one from the public wished
to address the Commission.
On the motion and second of
Commissioners Bristol and Markley,
item 2 was passed unanimously.

Murphy explained the janitorial
contract is a large contract
which historically has
had problems. JWA staff
has met with SBC Airport
Services and reviewed issues
and identified areas of
concern.
Mark Cornish, Vice President
of Operations, SBC Airport
Services: Mr. Cornish stated
SBC is focusing on the two
main restrooms on the sterile
side of the terminal and
the restrooms in the baggage
claim area. SBC will is reallocating
man power to maintain the
restrooms with the heaviest
use.
