JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT TO CONDUCT DRILL FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2014

WHAT:

John Wayne Airport (JWA) conducts a full-scale mass-casualty drill every three years as required by the Federal Aviation Administration. The purpose of the drill is to test and practice the operational capability of the Airport's emergency management system in a real-time environment. As a result, there will be significant emergency response personnel and equipment in the vicinity of the Airport. JWA will continue normal airport operations during the drill.

WHEN:

Friday, April 11, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

WHO:

Participants include:

  • John Wayne Airport
  • Orange County Sheriff's Department
  • Orange County Health Care Agency, Emergency Medical Services
  • Orange County Fire Authority
  • American Red Cross
  • Delta Air Lines
  • Orange County Transportation Authority
  • Multiple Orange County fire departments, hospitals, ambulance companies and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members

WHERE:

The drill will be staged on the east side of the airfield on the South Remain Over Night aircraft parking area in a secure area of the Airport.
