PAINTINGS BY LEE WANDERER FEATURED AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

SANTA ANA, Calif. - A selection of paintings by Orange County artist Lee Wanderer will be on exhibit December 10, 2013 through January 13, 2014, in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal as part of John Wayne Airport's Community Focus Space Program. Wanderer's works can be seen on the Departure (upper) Level near the security screening areas in Terminals A, B and C and on the Arrival (lower) Level adjacent to Baggage Carousels 1 and 4.

Wanderer's oil paintings feature still life as well as scenes of daily life in Southern California, along with her travels as a plein air painter. An example can be seen below:

"I am a Wanderer and there is a lot of world to gaze at. I travel to paint and paint to travel," said the artist. "My plein air kit goes everywhere. It becomes a frame in which to view and imbue the world."

A lifelong traveler, Wanderer has resided in Orange County since 1990. Traveling has been an integral part of her life and she has visited Europe, Russia and the Holy Land. Wanderer has also studied classical painting techniques at the Florence Academy of Art, both in Florence, Italy, and in Sweden.
