The Muckenthaler Cultural Center is housed in a historic 1924 mansion in an eight-acre park located minutes away from downtown Fullerton. Their mission is to provide the public with experiences that stimulate creativity and imagination, while conserving the heritage and architecture of the Muckenthaler Estate. The Muckenthaler Cultural Center offers exhibitions, performances and education programs to Orange County's communities and visitors.
"The Muckenthaler home was built in 1924 atop an eight-acre site on a hill in Fullerton and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Now in its 48th year since being donated to the City of Fullerton as a cultural center, 'The Muck' annually produces more than 80 performances, gallery exhibits, festivals and special events," said Zoot Velasco, Executive Director of the Muckenthaler Cultural Center. "We also offer more than 2,000 hours of arts education classes on site and in eight outreach sites serving more than 30,000 people."
The Muckenthaler Cultural Center has been recognized by the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, Arts Orange County, OC Parenting Magazine, OC Register and Orange Coast Magazine as one of the leading cultural experiences in Orange County.
Unveiled in 2011, the ORANGE COUNTY: Destination Art & Culture exhibition space includes 11 wall-mounted display cases offering public space intended to "connect" Orange County's non-profit art and cultural organizations with the millions of passengers and visitors who travel through John Wayne Airport each year.
