ARTIST ROBERT KARR FEATURED IN COMMUNITY FOCUS SPACE PROGRAM AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

SANTA ANA, Calif. - A selection of aviation-themed paintings by Orange County artist Robert Karr will be on display through March 19, 2012 in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal as part of John Wayne Airport's Community Focus Space program. Karr's art work can be seen on the departure (upper) level near the security screening areas and on the arrival (lower) level near baggage carousels 1 and 4.

Karr's paintings are historical aviation based and showcase aircraft throughout the 20th Century. "I hope a little of my interest in love for and fascination with these historic aircraft comes through to the viewer, and perhaps inspires a few moments to consider where today's magnificent flying machines came from," says the artist.

The JWA exhibition will feature nine oil paintings depicting aircraft in flight, an example of which can be seen below.

Karr is a Southern California native and life-long resident and has been involved in art since early childhood. His main inspiration is historical aviation with emphasis on WWI, but a great love of WWII airplanes took an early hold since his father served in the Army Air Force during the war. His book cover, magazine and model kit art has been seen worldwide.
