CONSTRUCTION ALERT
Terminal A Passenger Security Screening Lanes to Partially Close for Construction
Beginning Monday, February 6

WHAT:
In order to continue the upgrade of the security screening checkpoints at John Wayne Airport, alternating lanes within the Terminal A passenger security checkpoint will close beginning MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2012. While the checkpoint itself will remain open, the number of screening lanes will be reduced. During this time, passengers departing John Wayne Airport should plan ahead giving themselves extra time to get through screening and find their gate.

WHEN:
Beginning Monday, February 6 through March 2012

TRAVEL TIPS:

  • Passengers flying with American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Continental, Delta or WestJet may still check in at the ticket counter in Terminal A and continue to use the passenger screening lanes in Terminal A;
  • Passengers who have boarding passes and do not need to check bags or visit the ticket counter may go directly to screening checkpoints in any of the three Terminals (A, B or C) to access any of the Terminal A, B or C gates;
  • All drop-off and pick-up locations in front of all three Terminals remain the same for visitors and passengers.

Passengers should give themselves 90 minutes to two hours to find parking, check their luggage and go through the security checkpoint to ensure they are at their gate in time for their flight. For the latest TSA travel tips and security requirements, log on to www.ocair.com or visit www.tsa.gov.

WHY:
The temporary closure to some lanes of the Terminal A security checkpoint allows for updating equipment at the security checkpoints. The Terminal B security checkpoint will reopen by Monday, February 6. More information about the security screening process at John Wayne Airport can be found here.
