SANTA ANA, Calif. - John Wayne Airport will display selected pieces from the OC Fair's Permanent Art Collection of award-winning visual arts entries from May 16 through October 15, 2011. The collection will be exhibited in the Vi Smith Concourse Gallery in Terminal A and in art display cases across from the Oasis Grill & Sky Lounge.

Thought to be the largest public collection of artwork by Orange County artists, the OC Fair Permanent Art Collection consists of fine art, photography and woodworking entries submitted by Orange County artists in the OC Fair's annual Visual Arts competitions.

"We are pleased to be able to feature such a large and varied collection of artworks from Orange County artists," said Airport Director Alan Murphy." This exhibition is a great way to share three decades of the OC Fair's finest with John Wayne Airport passengers."

"The OC Fair & Event Center is dedicated to community partnerships and this endeavor with John Wayne Airport is the perfect opportunity to honor our community by showing what great local talent we have in Orange County. The visual arts program at the OC Fair is very robust and we look forward to collecting some great works of art at the 2011 Fair," said OC Fair & Event Center Board Chair David Ellis.

Of the 170 piece collection, 32 items will be displayed at the Airport as part of the exhibit. Dating back to the 1980s, the collection consists of the winning entries in the OC Fair's art competition, each of which has been purchased by the OC Fair.

Ticketed passengers who have passed through security will be able to view the display, which can be seen across from Gates 2 - 5 in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. For more information about JWA's art program, visit
