ARTIST SAMANTHA MINEAR FEATURED IN COMMUNITY
FOCUS SPACE PROGRAM
AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Art works by artist Samantha Minear are being featured in John Wayne Airport's (JWA) Community Focus Space Program and will be on display through April 18, 2011.
“I am interested in light and mood, carefully selecting my subject for something that is personally meaningful to me and working to create a balanced composition,” says Minear. “To me, this is the function of art: a way to bridge the gap between two people and say what’s really going on.”
Ms. Minear's creations are usually produced in pastels. Many feature her childhood dollhouse, set in unusual ways to reflect moments in daily life. Minear also produces landscape scenes of beaches and other landmarks of Orange County including Seal Beach and Garden Grove, painted when the artist lived in those areas.
Minear's art work will be displayed on the Departure (upper) Level near the security screening checkpoints and on the Arrival (lower) Level near baggage carousels 1 and 4. To learn more about JWA's Community Focus Space Program, visit www.ocair.com.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, and serves nearly nine million passengers annually.
