SANTA ANA, Calif. - John Wayne Airport (JWA) is pleased to announce new food/beverage and dining establishments coming to the Airport in 2011. Today, the Orange County Board of Supervisors selected Caterina's, Subway and Vino Volo for new specialty concession leases at JWA. The new concessionaires are part of an overall plan to bring new, high quality concessions to passengers traveling through the Thomas F. Riley Terminal.

"This is an important first step in our plan to bring JWA passengers an exciting and diverse mix of concessions into the Riley Terminal," said Airport Director Alan Murphy. "We know passengers want both quality and variety in their food and retail options and we are committed to providing them with both."

Caterina's and Subway will be located in the new Terminal C centralized food/retail area. Vino Volo will be situated in Terminal B, across from Gate 7.

"We are thrilled to be part of the concession offerings at JWA. JWA is a great fit for the Subway chain where we are proud to offer hungry travelers, airline crew members and airport staff the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of sandwiches and salads that are low in fat, full in flavor and custom made right before their eyes," said Elizabeth Rolfe, Director of New Business Development for the Subway restaurant chain.

Caterina's started its business in San Clemente, Calif. in 1990 and was the first self-serve frozen yogurt shop in Orange County. They currently have a store in JWA which has been in operation since 1996. Their new store at JWA will include frozen yogurt, ice cream, smoothies and pastries, as well as gluten-free products. Brands they'll offer include Dreyer's, Haagen-Dazs, YoCream Yogurt, Godiva, Jelly Belly, See's and Ghirardelli.

Subway, an internationally recognized sandwich shop, will open its first store in JWA with a Tuscany II themed decor. This location will be operated by the Asfour Family Corporation of Orange County which operates nine other stores locally. JWA's Subway will be open throughout the day, serving menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner guests.

Vino Volo, owned by Taste, Inc. of San Francisco, Calif., has been operating retail wine shops and wine tasting lounges inside airport terminals since 2005 including locations in the Oakland, Sacramento and Washington Dulles International Airports. Vino Volo will feature an open floor plan and offer food, wine by the glass or bottle, wine tasting and bottles of wine for purchase.
