ARTIST WILLIAM GLASS FEATURED IN
COMMUNITY FOCUS PROGRAM AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
SANTA ANA, Calif. - A collection of works by artist William Glass will be featured at John Wayne Airport (JWA) as part of the Community Focus Program, accessible for viewing by both the traveling and non-traveling general public through November 29, 2010.
"I deeply appreciate the classical bas-relief (French for sculptural) form found on the friezes of certain historic buildings," said Glass. "They remind me of the constant movement of the human figure in space. I attempt to convey this concept through my art, in which the viewer can see the movement of figures in space and how the forms continue to develop as their gestures are seen."
Glass' works will be displayed in the departure (upper) level near the security screening areas and on the arrival (lower) level near baggage carousels 1 and 4 and are accessible for viewing by the general public. To learn more about JWA's Community Focus Program, visit www.ocair.com.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise owned and operated by the County of Orange and serves approximately nine million passengers annually. The Airport is served by 10 commercial passenger airlines serving 20 nonstop destinations.
