PAINTINGS BY ARTIST ELLEN ROSE HONORING 'MAN'S BEST FRIEND' FEATURED IN COMMUNITY FOCUS PROGRAM AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
SANTA ANA, Calif. - A collection of paintings by artist Ellen Rose are being featured as part of John Wayne Airport's (JWA) Community Focus Program and will be on display now through October 25, 2010. Rose's paintings will be displayed on the departure (upper) level near the security screening checkpoints and on the arrival (lower) level near baggage carousels 1 and 4.
"Painting is a sensual and intellectual event. It gives one an opportunity to make one's mark. It is a vain but positive gesture stating that one is alive," says Rose. "Color and image are important to me and along with them the joy of paint with its smears, drips and consistency."
The "Dogma" collection includes paintings of one of Rose's favorite subject - man's best friend: dogs. A selection from this collection can be seen below.
