AIR CANADA BEGINS SERVICE BETWEEN
ORANGE COUNTY AND TORONTO
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Today, Air Canada will
operate its first flight AC787, departing from Toronto's Lester
B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at 5:50 p.m. EST arriving
at John Wayne Airport in Orange County (SNA) at 8:01 p.m. PST.
On Friday, April 9, Air Canada will operate flight AC786 departing
from Orange County at 8:00 a.m. PST arriving in Toronto at 3:41
p.m EST. The year-round service will operate with a 120-seat
Airbus A319.
"We look forward to partnering with Air Canada on our
first international service and offering this new destination
for our passengers," said Alan L. Murphy, Airport Director.
Air Canada’s service to Toronto increases the number
of nonstop destinations from John Wayne Airport to 20 and the
number of commercial airlines offering service from Orange County
to 11 (plus two commuter airlines).
The new Orange County/Toronto route is part of Air Canada’s
major increase in capacity this summer between Toronto and California
that also includes a new route to San Diego, more service to
San Francisco and the introduction of a wide-body aircraft,
featuring Air Canada’s industry leading Executive First
service with lie flat suites, on select flights to Los Angeles.
