ARTIST CAREN SWEENEY FEATURED IN
COMMUNITY FOCUS PROGRAM AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
Santa Ana, California - A collection of paintings by artist Caren Sweeney are featured at John Wayne Airport (JWA) as part of the Community Focus Program and will be on display through September 22, 2009.
"For this exhibition I have chosen a variety of imagery that reflects destinations that the travelers may also be about to experience," says Sweeney. "I hope that the viewers will also allude to memories of childhood, vacations, and places they hold dear in their hearts."
California Coast, Caren Sweeney
Ms. Sweeney's intention is to evoke specific emotional responses through landscape imagery and the layers of color that she uses in her paintings. Sweeney earned her MFA in Drawing, Painting and Printmaking in December 2001 from California State University, Fullerton. Ms. Sweeney teaches studio art classes at Riverside Community College, at both Riverside and Moreno Valley campuses.
Sweeney's portraits will be displayed in the departure (upper) level near the security screening areas and on the arrival (lower) level near baggage carousels 1 and 4. To learn more about JWA's Community Focus Program, visit www.ocair.com.
