JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS JULY 2009 STATISTICS (Revised)**

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in July 2009 as compared to July 2008. In July 2009, the Airport served 821,905 passengers, a decrease of 0.2% when compared to the July 2008 passenger traffic count of 823,922.

Commercial Carrier flight operations increased 3.5%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations increased 28.9% when compared to the same levels recorded in July 2008.

Total aircraft operations decreased in July 2009 as compared to the same month in 2008. In July 2009, there were 26,693 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 2.3% when compared to 27,326 total aircraft operations in July 2008.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.0% of the total aircraft operations during July 2009, decreased 5.9% when compared to July 2008.

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, serves nearly nine million passengers annually and is governed by the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors.
