TRAVELERS ON-THE-GO CAN DONATE BLOOD AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
SANTA ANA, Calif. - John Wayne Airport (JWA) is teaming up once again with the Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. Passengers traveling to and from John Wayne Airport will have an opportunity to help save lives by donating blood from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Airport’s Riley Terminal. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be parked on the lower (arrival) level outside near Terminal A, between the first and second traffic signal. Departing passengers are encouraged to participate by donating blood prior to checking in for their flight; arriving passengers can participate after picking up their luggage at baggage claim.
"The blood drive is a convenient way for willing employees and passengers to donate to a good cause," said Alan L. Murphy, airport director."We hope passengers, meeters and greeters, and airport employees will consider participating."
Appointments are recommended for those who want to participate in the blood drive. However, walk-up donors are also welcome. To schedule an appointment in advance, visit www.givelife.org and type in JohnWayneAirport (no spaces), click on John Wayne Airport as the location, and then click on the appointment time of choice.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, and serves nearly 10 million passengers annually and is governed by the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors.
