Construction Schedule and Milestones
JWA’s Improvement Program includes the construction of a new terminal, two new parking structures, updates to the existing terminal and a variety of related projects. When complete, passengers accessing JWA will see a seamless and consistent look between all three terminals, but will have more space to move and likely find more services available to them.
Recent Accomplishments:
The Board of Supervisors:
- Awarded a contract to Walker Parking for Architect/Engineering services for the B1 Parking Structure;
- Certified the list of prequalified contractors, approved plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bid for the Deconstruction of the B1 Parking Structure.
Construction Progress:
- More than 250,000 square feet of concrete has been placed on the new South Remain-Over-Night aircraft parking apron;
- A new, replacement hangar is under construction near Campus and Dove Streets;
- The relocation of the security guard shack and fence at Dove Street are under construction.
Looking Ahead:
Staff will recommend the Board of Supervisors:
- Award contract to Barnhart, Inc. for Construction Management services for the B1 Parking Structure;
- Award contract to Heery International for Terminal C Commissioning Agent;
- Make contract selection for Construction for Temporary Parking Lot C;
- Make contract selection for Deconstruction and Structural Retrofit of B1 Parking Structure;
- Make contract selection for Construction for the Replacement B1 Parking Structure.
